Donald Eugene Wannamaker 

August 15, 1936 - February 13, 2022

Passed peacefully on Sunday, February 13th from multiple organ failure with his wife and children by his side in this 86th year. Son of the late Clayton and Jean (McDarmid). Beloved husband of Connie (nee Benn) of 62 years. Loving father of Cheryl Armstrong (Brian), Brad Wannamaker (Debbie) and much loved Grandpa to Matt Wannamaker (Ashley), Adam Wannamaker, Joe Wannamaker (Katelynn), Ethan Armstrong, Cole Armstrong (Sydney) and Great Grandpa to Rachel, Rory and Oliver. He is predeceased by his brother Lawrence, sisters-in-law Germaine, Charlie and missed by his siblings Lee (Sue) Wannamaker, Amy (Charlie) Young, Jack Wannamaker and by his numerous nieces and nephews.

Don was Co-owner of Wannamaker's General Store and Meat Market with his wife Connie for 19 years. Don also drove Bus for 32 years for Martins Bus Lines and drove Charter Bus for Trentway Wagar. Don was a member of The Order of Masons St. Andrews Lodge #497, Charter Member of both the Land O' Lakes Fire Department and the Land O'Lakes Lions Club. Don was also a member of the Through the Roof Ministry. Don and Connie were avid campers and members of the National Camping Travelers Group. 

The family will receive friends at the Milestone Funeral Center in Northbrook on Saturday, February 19th from 1-5 pm. A Celebration of Life Service for Don will take place at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
