Helena Marie Thompson (nee Geroux)
December 8, 1950 - January 31, 2024

With a deep sense of sorrow and loss, our family announces the passing of Helena Marie Thompson, in her 74th year, at the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital in Napanee on Wednesday January 31, 2024, with family by her side, after a sudden and brief illness.

Helena will be forever loved and remembered by her husband Gary, to whom she was married for 50 years, and her daughters Carrie (Chris) and Kelly, and her four granddaughters whom she loved with all her heart and who were her great blessings: Kassandra, Mackenzie, Fiona and Ruby.  Helena is survived by her siblings Joe (Berni), Donna, Cheryl, Wendy (Jay), and Janet (Roger), and predeceased by her parents, Mae and Alphonse Geroux; siblings Terry and Dennis.  She will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, extended family and of course, her many friends, old and new.   

Raised in Port Severn, Ontario, Helena eventually moved to Oshawa where she and Gary met and began their journey.  Together, they raised their daughters in Oshawa, and then Manilla, before calling Cloyne, Ontario home.  Helena’s happy place was on a boat on Mazinaw Lake with her family.  She found joy and purpose in finding various ways to help others, and loved her job supervising children on the school bus.  A strong believer in the power of prayer, Helena will be remembered as kind, hard-working and incredibly thoughtful, for her strong will and positivity, and how she always looked forward to hosting the Geroux clan each summer.
