Hermann Schwill

Sadly we say goodbye to a father, grandfather, brother, neighbour and friend. Many in the Flinton Community knew Hermann when they went to purchase eggs from him. He loved to chat and could speak on almost any topic with authority. He loved his garden which he managed even into his last years.

Hermann and his then wife and baby girl came to Canada in June of 1958. He started by working on farms where he was quickly noticed for his skills in agriculture, mechanics, welding and his self-starter attitude. He went on to study electronics and worked as a supervisor at Clairtone in its early years. Eventually Hermann started a business in Oshawa  building fibreglass sailing boats. He had many stories of his adventures delivering boats throughout NA and the many friends he made along the way.

An avid traveller, he visited an array of countries in Europe but his favourite spot was Cuba specifically the city of Havana where he enjoyed wandering the streets at leisure time and time again

Hermann lived a very full life for which we can only be grateful. May he rest in peace.
