Karen J. Elliott - It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Karen on Friday, May 28, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer. She leaves behind her devoted husband Eric of 41 years. Proud mother of Becky (Jordan) Newman. Loving daughter of Joan Whitaker & the late Ray Whitaker. Memories of grandma will always be cherished in the hearts of her pride and joy, Wyatt, Charlie and Violet. She will be sadly missed by her brother Paul Whitaker (Ian Sanders). Karen will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Karen owned & operated Clever Cuts Hair Salon in Northbrook for many years before semi-retiring and spending much quality time with her family and many friends. She enjoyed the odd round of golf with the girls on Wednesday nights, a friendly game of pool , music and a good ole camp fire. Her laugh and affectionate smile will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her.     

Cremation has taken place with Milestone Funeral Center, Northbrook. Family and friends will be received at the Milestone Funeral Center, Northbrook Chapel on Saturday, August 7, 2021 from 12-1pm. A Celebration of her Life will follow at 1pm. Friends desiring may contribute in Karen's memory to the Heart of Hastings Hospice with appreciation.
