Madeline Elizabeth Delores Hinchey
June 14, 1939 - April 5, 2024
Our hearts are broken as we share the passing of our Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother, wife and friend. Madeline lost her battle with Cancer after being diagnosed 10 months ago.
Loving wife of the late John for 67 years. Dear Mother of Jim (Susan) of Oshawa, Ontario, Donald (Penny) of Kaladar, Ontario and Hope (Sammy) of Columbus, Georgia. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Kirk (Hiliary), Kelly (Chris), Katie, Jordan (Morgan), Tanner (Alexandria), Blair, Brianna, Morgan and Rebecca. Never forgotten by her great-grandchildren, Keenan, Hollis, Vanessa, Hailee, Jordan, Logan, Charleigh, Ainsley, Quinn and one great-great-grandchild Noah. She will be missed by her siblings Reg, Jacqueline, Frances, Judy and Gwen. Predeceased by her husband John, parents Gaston and Patricia Thibault and her brother Andre. She will also be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
Madeline was born in Toronto, Ontario. She went to work for Bell Canada after high school. When she married John she moved to Elm Tree, Ontario where she lived out her life. She worked for 25 years at Celanese in Bath, Ontario and finished her career at Pine Meadow Nursing Home at Northbrook as a cook. Her biggest love was her family. She loved her family gatherings. Not only did she cook for her family, but she cooked for everyone, so much so that she ran her own catering business for a while.
Madeline had the biggest heart and was always ready and willing to help everyone. She left no one behind, and made everyone feel important, because to her they were.
Our lives must go on, but not a day will go by that we won't miss her. We will love you forever.
The family will receive friends at the Milestone Funeral Center, Northbrook on Friday, April 12, 2024 from 5-8pm. Burial of the urn will take place at a later date. Friends desiring may contribute in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation with appreciation.
