Marguerite Malina Boomhower passed away August 5th, surrounded by family. She was born in Northbrook, Ontario to Abel and Elsie VanNess and was the eldest of eight children. Growing up Peggy was an avid outdoor enthusiast and figure skater; passions she pursued her entire life. She spoke often with a twinkle in her eye of pranks she and her siblings would pull on their parents and neighbours.
In 1954, she married Durland Samuel Boomhower and had six children. Peggy was feisty, hardworking, independent and a generous person. She was a bus driver, worked at Northern Electric and owned a successful blueberry and baking business for many decades. In retirement she enjoyed travelling, shopping and liked to putter in her garden.
She leaves to mourn, Julie DeShane (Jack), Jack Boomhower (Janice), Joe Boomhower (Bev), Connie Boomhower, Trudy Nevarov (James). Siblings Alvin (Elda) and sister Doreen Soules. Grandchildren, Kevin (Janine), Sammi-Lynn, Michael (Jennifer), Michelle (Eric), Stacey, Tara, James (Lisa), Courtney, Travis (Lauren), Nicholas (Jenna), Lynsey, Tyler (Naydeen), Emma, Alex and many nieces and nephews, twenty great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She will be missed by many friends especially her neighbour, Errol Tryon(Lori). Predeceased by her parents, husband, son Samuel and wife Linda, siblings John, Calvin, Lorne, Sally, Madeline and loving granddaughter Brittnay Joy Boomhower.
We cordially invite you to attend her memorial service, to take place at the Northbrook Cemetery on Sunday, August 27 at 2pm.
