Passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 in his 81st year. Loving husband and companion of Georgina (Kerr) of 59 years. Loved and cherished father of Shannon Madigan (Ambrose), and Kimberly O’Brien (Edward). Loving Pops of  Alecia, Benjamin, Sonya, Melanie, Ashley, and their spouses as well as great Pops of; Alphonse, Anthony, Chloe, Mackenzie, Madison, Seth, Jackson, Alex, Asher, Aiden, Troy, Felix, Everleigh and Olivia. Dear brother of Lorraine Schutt, Mildred Libby (Ross), Edith Frew (Bob), Rachel  Behnke (Calvin). Predeceased by parents Allen and Adeline Kauffeldt, brothers Leslie and Max Kauffeldt; sister Marilyn Bekaris, and brother-in-laws Percy Schutt and Ray Bekaris. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mervin is remembered as a loving and devoted family man, he was a helping hand to many family and friends. He will be missed beyond measure. Respecting Mervin’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations made in Mervin's memory to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, 110-1525 Carling Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario, K1Z 8R9 would be appreciated by his family.
